Danke spacebirdy :) Maybe the Limburgish and Icelandic wiki's have the same amount of articles over a year :) --Ooswesthoesbes 30. desember 2007 kl. 08:32 (UTC)Reply

Another thing: the numbers in the translations are related to the numbers in the definitions :) best regards, --geimfyglið (:> )=| 30. desember 2007 kl. 08:52 (UTC)Reply

re:Orð of the week

Hi Ooswesthoesbes, yes, the word of the week = orð vikunnar (vika genitive with article) is here: Wikiorðabók:Orð vikunnar :)
(of course also seen on the Mainpage :)

Best regards, --geimfyglið (:> )=| 2. janúar 2008 kl. 18:35 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for your fast reply :) Any objection against an interwiki to Limburgish? --Ooswesthoesbes 2. janúar 2008 kl. 18:38 (UTC)Reply
Of course not =) --geimfyglið (:> )=| 2. janúar 2008 kl. 18:38 (UTC)Reply
Again very fast :) Done. Limburgish also has a (dead) genetive: waord 's waeks instead of the modern waord vanne waek. --Ooswesthoesbes 2. janúar 2008 kl. 18:42 (UTC)Reply
:) thanks. Oh, nice to know, I like the genitive case :D --geimfyglið (:> )=| 2. janúar 2008 kl. 18:45 (UTC)Reply
Yes, but it's dieing... German looses it, Limburgish has almost lost it (a few remainings are left) Dutch has lost it. --Ooswesthoesbes 2. janúar 2008 kl. 18:52 (UTC)Reply

please give translations..

... of 'pushtone' and 'dragtone' if these words exist

If I only knew what that should mean :( Did not find anything in Wikipedia. Best regards, --geimfyglið (:> )=| 14. janúar 2008 kl. 19:31 (UTC)Reply
Yes I know. English doesn't have official words for them too. Pushtone and dragtone only exist in 4 languages of which one is Limburgish. It's difficult to explain it. The only thing I've found in English is this. Maybe translate push and tone and do push+tone=pushtone? --Ooswesthoesbes 15. janúar 2008 kl. 06:18 (UTC)Reply
Oh, sorry for the belated response: Imho I would not even add the English name then (if it is not official) but the official Limburgish one, I can't invent a word from a not even sure English meaning :( Best regards, --geimfyglið (:> )=| 16. janúar 2008 kl. 16:32 (UTC)Reply
Ok, I'll place the Limburgish words there. What's 'shoe' and 'beautiful' in Icelandic? --Ooswesthoesbes 16. janúar 2008 kl. 16:39 (UTC)Reply
fagur, fallegur=beautiful,
skór=shoe
I am not working on en-is entries here mostly because there are so much Icelandic words to add and the fulltext-search helps You finding the words in English [1], [2] :)
Please be careful with translations because often English words have more than one meaning and can be tricky, it is good to double check is-en here or at this nice dictionary :) Best regards, --geimfyglið (:> )=| 16. janúar 2008 kl. 16:46 (UTC)Reply
Ok. --Ooswesthoesbes 16. janúar 2008 kl. 16:49 (UTC)Reply

Hi Ooswesthoesbes, thanks for voting :) You can of course also make proposals, (please only Icelandic words, since it is the Icelandic Wiktionary :) )

Best regards, --geimfyglið (:> )=| 3. febrúar 2008 kl. 18:42 (UTC)Reply

Yes! New proposals coming from other than Spacebirdy and me will be very welcome indeed! :) --ÉggO (Fressinn nacazmati) 4. febrúar 2008 kl. 13:21 (UTC)Reply
I'll see what I can do, I don't know so much Icelandic words :( (but I'm constantly learning more words!) Only a few of these. (I don't know them all because many are created by my bot) --Ooswesthoesbes 4. febrúar 2008 kl. 15:21 (UTC)Reply
Nice :) It is not a must of course :) we try to have fun doing it (and we do :D), we work on a word we like and then if it looks good propose it or improve it after proposing it even more :) If there is any word You like very much and would like to see it as word of the week here, please feel free to ask for a translation, I am sure we can make it worthy for the word of the week :) Best regards, --geimfyglið (:> )=| 4. febrúar 2008 kl. 15:30 (UTC)Reply
Alright! :) Do you know what intestine is in Icelandic? Something like þarmur/þarmar? --Ooswesthoesbes 4. febrúar 2008 kl. 15:35 (UTC)Reply
þarmur or görn :) Give me some time to work on it :) (þarmar is the plural), --geimfyglið (:> )=| 4. febrúar 2008 kl. 15:38 (UTC)Reply
Icelandic isn't so difficult after all :) Take a Dutch word (darm) Replace the d for a thorn (þarm) and paste -ur behind it :) (þarmur) --Ooswesthoesbes 4. febrúar 2008 kl. 15:40 (UTC)Reply
Well it is a germanic language ;) Look at þarmur now, I think it looks quite word-of-the-week-worthy :) --geimfyglið (:> )=| 5. febrúar 2008 kl. 10:33 (UTC)Reply
Yes, but there's one thing missing... (:) a Limburgish interwiki) --Ooswesthoesbes 5. febrúar 2008 kl. 11:05 (UTC)Reply

Hello Ooswesthoesbes, not really vandalism, just a poor formated entry, You can leave users {{subst:Test}} if You have the feeling it would be one, better do not suggest a block to them after adding just one thing like that, best regards, --geimfyglið (:> )=| 24. febrúar 2009 kl. 17:01 (UTC)Reply

Alright. The smiley made me think it was. And I'm known to Limburgish standards :) Next time I'll use the test-template :) --Ooswesthoesbes (spjall) 24. febrúar 2009 kl. 17:11 (UTC)Reply

Hello Ooswesthoesbes, we don't have that here in the translations, I personally don't like that in the translations, that is redundant work, best regards, --geimfyglið (:> )=| 23. júlí 2009 kl. 18:27 (UTC)Reply

Ok, thanks for letting me know, so I can keep it in mind when I add more Limburgish or Dutch translations. --Ooswesthoesbes (spjall) 23. júlí 2009 kl. 19:11 (UTC)Reply
Hello Ooswesthoesbes, sorry, I don't have the time to run a bot these days, maybe next week, but if You found a way Yourself the better, best regards, --geimfyglið (:> )=| 27. júlí 2009 kl. 20:32 (UTC)Reply

re:Li.wikt again

Dear Ooswesthoesbes, nice work, I am really happy to hear that, and am pleased for li.wikt's sake and its readers. It is always nice to see when small languages Wiktionaries have some structure and usefulness, because for the large languages there are plenty of dictionaries, for the small ones not :)

re:Li.wikt (3)

breyta

Hello Ooswesthoesbes, yes, the format and the declension looks ok (only the cases are in the wrong order, so a learner has it much harder to understand the similarities, better make it nominative>accussative>dative>genitive, see bíll), though I am still not a very fond friend of such entries, the reason is simply that a native Icelandic speaker would not very likely use li.wikt or any other to search for Icelandic words, also a Limburgs speaker who wanted to learn Icelandic would rather need to search from li to is... but that is only my opinion and of course I am happy for any entries, because everything constructive is generally welcomed. Best regards, --geimfyglið (:> )=| 20. desember 2009 kl. 21:36 (UTC)Reply

Hello, I see, though still as I can tell from my experience any other order makes the information quite useless, I threw a book away that had that order only because of that. But it is Your decision of course. Best regards, --geimfyglið (:> )=| 21. desember 2009 kl. 08:37 (UTC)Reply

re:re:language institute?

breyta

Hello Ooswesthoesbes, yes sure there is :) Best regards, --geimfyglið (:> )=| 31. desember 2009 kl. 14:03 (UTC)Reply

Then I don't understand the sense of putting it there ;) the language institute has nothing to do with the declensions that existed already before it was build ;) Best regards, --geimfyglið (:> )=| 31. desember 2009 kl. 18:06 (UTC)Reply
But You can't tell if they are "official" (what is 'official' anyway) unless You look there and if You do, I advise You not to say that too loud because they might accuse You of 'stealing' 'their' declensions... yes they do that... Linking their webpage is ok, but saying that a declension in li.wikt would be approved by the language institute is IMHO going too far. But again up to You, just warning You for good.
